On January 27, we all PDPI teachers visited St John's University Queens Campus. It was a very nice and knowledgeable experience. First of all, because we were very friendly welcomed by some senior students. I myself have felt part of St John's University since the very moment I stepped in the Manhattan Campus for the welcome meeting on Monday 13. Everybody - Directors, Coordinators, Professors, Security Officers and Staff, have made us feel completely at home since we got there. At The Queens Campus things were not all different. The students showed us all around and explained, very passionately, the history and the purpose of any single building at the campus. Second, because of the philosophy of the institution. Its is very rewarding to know that although you are going to stay away from your family and friends for six long weeks it is going to be in a harmonious and fraternal environment. This certainly was an important condition for learning to take placas profitably as expected by the instructors. Besides touring through the campus, we also had three very informative presentations after lunch. One on sexual harassment, another concerning documents and the last one on health care insurance. This time, we joined the group of teachers from Argentina which is improving their professional skills following a similar program as ours. So , he half day visit was, without adoubt, very pleasant and profitable, in all senses.
