Mission Accomplished!
Yesterday was a special day for us here in NYC. Some of the teachers went to Queens for a Volunteer work. To be honest, I had never done this kind of work in Brazil, actually it is not so common there.
It surely was a valuable experience. I had the opportunity to see a new reality here in New York. I found out that New York is not only richness, there are many poor people who need help.
From this experience could I learn that I can provide more from my time, energy and skills to help the ones in need, somehow I was valuable to them.
Another advantage of this work was the opportunity to practice my English talking to other volunteers from other universities here in New York.
When I go back to Brazil I intend to share this experience with my colleagues and find a way on how to implement this idea in our school.
