POST 3 - SANTOS

In the beginning of this week, I went to Campus Queens with my friends. I was marveled at the size of the Univesity. There are a lot of students from all over the world. By the way, I bought a lot of souvenirs to take back to my country and give to my friends there. Also this week, I had a workshop about "how to manage a large class" explained by Sue Peterson. Then I have started creating a website for my students in Brazil. In addition, my friends and I have seen a parade about a Chinese New Year in Chinatown, it was very beautiful...Those were the incredible experiences of this week.

Natural History Museum

Visit the Natural History Museum was a fantastic experience. Knowing such a fascinating universe, referred me to a moment in history that I have not lived, but that is part of my existence. It`s amazing the power  of the creation of man, a part of who we are, of our origins.

Museum of Modern Art

The atmosphere surrounding the art world, reported me to a world of paint, shapes, colors, creations and creatures. Being so near to Frida Kahlo, among many other wonderful artists and unparalleled, made me feel so amazed, with a creative universe, hitherto seen only in images. I am greatified by possibility to be present in this fascinating world of beauty and poetry.

CENTRAL PARK

Hi, everyone!
This Saturday afternoon was vey special to me - Feb 1, I went to Central Park. It is a huge park in Manhattan - New York. It is a beautiful place. By walking around this park you can see people talking sitting on the benches, kids playing and some adults jogging or riding their bikes. All in all, it is a perfect place if you want to relax.
There is a great area in the park which is called "Strawberry Fields." It is the Memorial John Lennon. I could not help feeling myself a bit sad, this place makes me remind the way he died. John Lennon's songs influenced me a lot to learn English. So, visiting his memorial is a dream come true.

Hi, everyone!

Last week, I had an exciting experience because I went to two important places for Americans to say, for all interested in the history of mankind: Memorial 9/11 and MoMA.

At the Memorial 9/11, I felt distinct emotions: sadness, respect, excitement... It is an incredible place! People who worked in the idealization and execution of the Memorial were a unique sensitivity. I was impressed!

Then I went to the Museum of Modern Art, MoMA. Art scattered everywhere! A giant space filled with cultural richness. Unfortunately, I could not visit all sectors, but never forget what I saw.

Thanks, God! Thanks, PDPI! Thanks, NYC!

Hugs!!!

The Museum of Modern Art

Hi, Everyone.
I visited the Museum of Modern Art last Friday in New York. It is best known as MOMA. The place is huge and as I walked around I saw lots of exhibitions and collections I had never seen in my life. It took me three hours to see the beauty and creativity of the drawings, paintings, sculptures, photography, illustrated books and part of a film. The curiosity about this film is that it was showed in several screens one part at a time. People were sitting on the floor to see it.

MOMA is now considered one of the most famous and important Museum of Modern Art in the World. Visiting this museum is really something that I will never forget.

SUPER BOWL XLVIII

The great day has come. The day that New Yorkers have been waiting for so long. The Seattle Seahawks will play Denver Broncos today in the Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium.
MetLife Stadium is a stadium of American football built in EastRutherford, New Jersey. It is home of NewYork Giants in the National League.

Almost everyone in New York talks about the Superbow Game. As soon as I arrived in this city I could see from the bus window lots of ads in the bilboards.I didn't realize how important that event was. Now I can understand. Everyday I see or hear
something about the big game on TV and in the newspapers. Most stores give discount in everything you buy in the name of the Super Bowl.
People from all ages are overwhelmed with all kinds of commercials. I went to Times Square last Thursday and breathed all the Sperbowl Game's atmosphere. There were many people there trying to get an autograph from their idols.
This is undoubtedly the greatest sport event in the United States.
