The NYPL visit
In our first Friday in New York we visited the New York Public Library. Cherry Chan from St. John`s University took us to the library and Ms.Ellen guided us there.It was the biggest library that I have visited in my life. I was very impressed with its dimension, very beautiful architecture and organization. There is a public library in my city too, but it`s much smaller and I can`t compare with the NYPL. I observed that this library is connected with social campaigns like aids activism and others. It was founded in 19th century, there are many ancient books, videos, documents and approximately 53 millions items.
And I`m sure that it`s an incentive to people read, because when I get into the subway there is at least one person reading a book, a magazine...
