On January 17th we visited the New York Public Library, the second largest
public library in the whole country (the largest is the Library of Congress in
Washington), founded in 1895 and with more than fifty-one million books,
e-books, historical collections, among other things. I was really impressed by
that huge and beautiful construction and all the objects it has.
One of the historical documents that the library has is the letter Christopher
Columbus wrote in 1493 about the discovery of America.
It was an unforgettable experience to visit a library with such an enormous collection
(and it is always expanding), quite different from the one in my hometown. What
a pity!!!
That was an unforgettable experience for me too. It has been an amazing experience studying English in this wonderful city!
