Let me introduce myself to you. I am Leonario and I am so happy because I am enjoying the PDPI Program in the St. John's University - New York City. That is an opportunity to develop my professional and personal abilities as an English Teacher. So, the arrival was successful because the Aaron coordinator approved the PDPI group at the airport and gave the perfect calm and he took us to the Sara's Residence where we got a rest ( the trip was so long!!!). First week was splendid! The Language Connection Director of the St. John's University Pam Fairman took us for a Campus Tour around the University she showed us some interesting places, such as World Trade Center Memorial and Irish Family Memorial. Those places make me think and reflect about the sad aspects of the humanity history in my country Brazil when the people from Northeast left and abandoned their homes because the starvation in 1970's and they had to go to city such as Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro by looking for job and food. So, that is a sad passage in our Brazilian history.
Then I want to learn more and more about the American culture and after all this is the first week in the New York City and I will go on visiting a lot of places and this is the first time I traveled abroad. See you !
