Post 3 - Oliveira

This week we had the opportunity to visit St. John’s campus in Queens. First,
we took two trains and a bus to get there – about 40 minutes from where we

are staying. The ride was kind of fun because it was our first experience going to another borough in New York City – it is considered the most diverse one. I was amazed by the size of the campus. It really looks like a real campus – so big and so crowded! Some St. John’s students welcomed us and took us around the campus. We visited a lot of places: gym, church, souvenir store, shrine, dorms, cafeteria, and all sorts of different classrooms. Despite of my age, I would like to be a graduate student again, just because of the environment – it is so favorable to studying. But there is always something that really drags our attention. St. John’s Core Values. In my opinion, it is the extremely important to have solid values to run a school. It is not easy dealing with people’s lives. Thus, having straight forward values make everyone’s education more meaningful. It is such a privilege to make part St. John’s community.
