Last
Wednesday two friends and I went to attend a Masters' group class at Columbia
University with Dr. Luciana Carvalho de Oliveira. My friend already knew this professor from Brazil because they had
traveled together twice and had become great friends. We waited for her,
sitting in front of her office and when she arrived and we started talking,
amazing coincidences started to pop up...
First we
discovered that she had been my sister's math student at Progresso High School
where we both had studied and another sister of mine had been the principal.
She started telling us a story about my cousin, who is a doctor in our
hometown, that she is only alive because of him: her mother was in her 40's and
already 5 months pregnant from her, when this doctor discovered that.
Her older
sister had studied with me during all our school time. We had studied at the
same university and one of my classmates at the time had been her German
professor. We visited her apartment at the Campus and met her husband. We
decided to have dinner together and more and more coincidences appeared. We had
a wonderful night full of memories...We really traveled to the past!!! Isn't
that a small world!!!
